Merry Christmas!

No snow this year. Just gray skies, rain and wind gusts. At least the weather outside is indeed frightful! I feel as though Christmas snuck up on us this year -- as if it just wasn't willing to wait for the "appropriate" holiday weather to make its grand entrance. We opened presents this morning, and as the token kiddo, Beckham made out like a bandit. The process itself proved entertaining. He showed absolutely no interest in tearing the wrapping paper, but as soon as Matthew ripped enough away to reveal some remnant of toy inside, Beckham would wave his hands excitedly and squeal in anticipation (see video clip). Though he received many a cool gift, his favorites are clearly two big trucks which he pushes simultaneously throughout the house (such the boy!). He was beginning to get frustrated when one truck wasn't moving as efficiently as the other, so I helped him out by putting the smaller one within the back of the bigger. Problem solved. Matthew is currently, laboriously putting together our identical gifts: drafting table desks from IKEA. We scored -- they were basically clearance items and for a mere $40 we are getting 59 inches of wonderful work space each. Matthew will use his as a traditional desk and I plan to use mine for various creative endeavors, including organizing years worth of photos. Overall, a very merry Christmas was had by all, and now to all, a good night.

at least it wasn't 70 degrees on Christmas day like it was here :-) we are used to that though. Caed "made out like a bandit" too and I even used that phrase on our blog. ha.

It's so sweet how excited he is! Josh got a couple of monster size trucks as gifts and is pushing them around as well....it looks as though Toys R Us exploded in our house!
