East Bay Bound

Oakland on the brain. And little to nothing else. My scattered and ecstatic behavior today demonstrated such and even now I am having a hard time concentrating. We leave tomorrow morning and although Matthew is attending a conference, Beckham and I are free to explore, and explore we shall! This trip to Oakland isn't just a little getaway, but a full out scouting trip. The possibility of relocating to the San Francisco Bay area is very real, and we seem to think northern California is more "us" than southern Cali's beach style. However we have been in this situation before, feeling at one point that Seattle was beckoning. Upon exploring that option we were treated to exceptionally gorgeous weather and yet no peace. Neither of us felt that we were supposed to move. We've been praying about Oakland for more than two months, and I am excited and curious to see what God unveils... Will we return to San Diego absolutely certain that we will move? Or will we decide the northwest isn't so appealing after all? Backtracking to the holiday: M's parents were here for the week, visiting from Texas, and Beckham relished every moment of their attention! He would crawl into their laps to be read to, or reach up and hold their hands while out strolling. You wouldn't guess that he sees them so infrequently as he clearly knows who his grandparents are. Today he was restless, bored to have only Matthew's and my attention. Thankfully we travel tomorrow, and Beckham will inevitably find many other faces and places to be intrigued by. As hopefully we all will.
