Cheesecake Coma

Perhaps it is the massive portion sizes at the Cheesecake Factory, or perhaps it is that I simply am not a "cheesecake" person, but normally I don't indulge in such a treat. Yesterday, against all sensibilities, I overloaded. The title of my slice included "coconut" and "chocolate" so I was utterly defenseless. I downed half the slice at the restaurant and then the rest a couple hours later. There soon after the sickness set in. It kind of set the tone for a rather lethargic weekend but it couldn't dampen my enthusiasm for the rain -- RAIN! -- that coated San Diego last night. Showers are rare here (as my cousin pointed out, it is the GOLDEN -- not green -- State). There were no indications of such rain this morning though as the usual blaring sunshine whitewashed the city.
On a happier, non-weather related note, Beckham is THRIVING. He responds to our questions with a sincere "Yeah" and such behavior inspires us to pose the craziest of q's. Like, "Is your mommy the prettiest mommy in the whole world?" "Yeah." Gotta love that! He also has a habit of getting into things wherever Matthew or I might be. Whether it be the bathroom, kitchen, office, etc., if we are there, so is Beckham. We have had to move garbage cans off the floor, and close toilet lids. Everything fascinates him. Yesterday he even slid open the shower door and turned on the faucet. He was surprised by the sudden downpour from above, but it certainly won't deter him from trying again. OH, and of worthy note: the last two nights in a row Beckham has slept 12 hours solid. No little whimpers or whines from his room. He was out. However, he only napped for an hour yesterday and (GULP!) 10 minutes today. I don't know which is worse -- 4:30am feeding or getting absolutely no down time to myself during the day. Wait, I know the answer. The boy needs his naps! Or at the very least his mom does.
