Cold Blankets

A cold virus currently blankets the Taylor household. Beckham was the first to sniffle, I soon followed, and then Matthew got the last but least of it. It's been lingering for more than a week now and Beckham's definitely been hammered the most; or perhaps the fact that we can't medicate him like we do ourselves only makes him seem worse? Poor little guy. It is funny how illness alters things. Tastebuds, appetites, energy levels, routines. The only routine we've really followed these past few days is frequenting a new park we discovered. I am hopeful that the sunlight and open space speeds up the healing process. Going to the park with Beckham means I linger close behind as he crawls somewhat clumsily up steps and hesitates at the top of slides. Yesterday he went down a slide by himself, sitting up straight. Just last week he would lay flat on his back and soar down the slide, focus on the sky. Progress. Today he snagged a little kids push toy/walker and just flew the coop. He LOVES pushing things: strollers, big toy trucks, walkers. That is his thing now -- latch on, look down, full steam ahead!
